Salman To Produce Somen Banerjee Biopic; To Highlight Male Striptease Artistes

Yes you heard it right. Salman Khan Films will soon be producing a movie based on the life of Somen Banerjee an Indian-American entrepreneur and co-founder of Chippendales – A touring dance troupe, which is best known for its male striptease performances.

Salman Khan confirmed producing the film to Bombay Times and said, “A Bengali man, who moved from India to America in the late 60s, struggled and created one of America’s most iconic brands. We are going to tell the story of Somen Banerjee, a man driven by fierce ambition, on celluloid.”

The biopic will showcase the life of Somen and his journey from Kolkata to Los Angeles and Europe. The story will have all the elements of power, violence and greed from his life.

The makers are currently working on the script and the movie will be produced as a feature film and also a mini-series.
