Salim and Javed, the formidable writing duo of the sixties and the seventies, may not see eye to eye after their split in the eighties, but that hasn’t prevented their sons from forging a friendship that has stood the test of time. Salman Khan, son of Salim Khan, is friends with Farhan Akhtar, son of Javed Akhtar. In fact, Farhan had approached Salman with two scripts at different points of time but Salman did not think, they were good enough for him. Says Farhan, “That’s perfectly fine because an actor must have the liberty to decide which film is good for him and which isn’t.” The filmmaker is still confident, he will come up with a subject which Salman would like. Incidentally, Farhan was among the invitees at Salman’s birthday party at his Panvel farmhouse on December 27.
