Katrina Kaif is the woman who has achieved all what she has because of sheer hard work. No one can take away from her the fact that she has toiled her way up to become as successful as she is today. With a great success rate beside her, the actress still hasn’t received as much adulation at the awards functions as one might have hoped for her. In a post-release interview with Katrina Kaif, we asked her that despite big numbers when awards don’t come to her way, doesn’t it perturb her?

She was frank and said, “No. It doesn’t and I will make a very politically incorrect reference here. I had asked Salman the same a few years ago and he had told me that before Dabangg, he was barely recognized when it came to awards. I am not making a comparison here of course because Salman is an iconic personality and has achieved a lot in the industry. But it was a good reminder that it shouldn’t perturb you. Also Salim uncle had once told me, that just to be different one doesn’t have to be bad. It was in relation to something very different. However, people do make films sometimes which are very off and you don’t understand anything there. It seems then that they were trying to be different just for the sake of being different.”

Katrina clearly is Salman’s protege in Bollywood. And she belives in being focused on her plusses rather than on her minuses. She quips, “These (Salman and his father’s) two philosophies drive me often. Don’t try and be different just for the sake of it. If something is working for you and you are doing well, accept it. Don’t be afraid of reinventing yourself but don’t chase it pointlessly and aimlessly. When it is the right time, the opportunity will present itself to you in the right way and right capacity. Awards are great and I have of those Popular Awards, Viewer’s Choice Awards. I take them with a smile but I am with the results of my film. I find what Salman had said way back then very relevant even today.”

Katrina has seen a massive success with Bang Bang and will begin shooting for Jagga Jasoos‘ second schedule in less than a week, and will then begin the Mumbai schedule of Abahishek Kapur’s Fitoor. She also has Kabir Khan’s Phantom that will release next year. With her bag full of big films, Katrina has a good part of career ahead of her now!
