Sairat Director Nagraj Manjule’s Ex-Wife Accuses Him Of Physical Abuse

Director Nagraj Manjule has been on cloud nine since his recent release Sairat has met with a tremendous success. The director, who previously helmed another path-breaking film like Fandry, seems to have found himself in a controversy revolving around his personal life.

The director’s ex-wife, Sunita recently gave out some shocking details about their marriage in an explosive interview with The Quint.

According to the interview, after their marriage, Manjule left her with the in-laws in Solapur to pursue filmmaking. She even claimed that he forced her to undergo an abortion twice.

The interview states that post his National Award win for the short film Pistulya, Sunita wasn’t allowed to attend the event in Delhi, thus further starting to disintegrate their marriage. The reports say that Sunita now works as a maid, post their divorce in 2014.
