While people mouthed rumours of Copacabana and Maldives being the venue for the grandest wedding of B-town this year, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor had different plans. Knowing their closeness to London for the much needed privacy, some even anticipated a wedding which would have included their all time favourite metropolitan city.

But the actual details have been stated by our eternal diva and mother to Saif Ali Khan, Sharmila Tagore. In a chat with a leading news daily, Sharmilaji stated that Saifeena’s wedding is majorly going to happen in India, with Delhi and Mumbai being the chosen venues. She also disclosed that the wedding would happen sometime in October and would be summed up in two parts. The actual wedding ceremony would take place in Delhi and would be attended by close family members only. Post that, there would be a lavish celebration with all the starry faces from the glitzy world of fashion and glamour! Much to everyone’s surprise the much hyped wedding affair of the hottest couple in town would largely be nothing of an extravaganza as Sharmila pointed out! The wedding would happen just about a month after the first death anniversary of Tiger Pataudi, hence the family has decided to keep the event a low key affair.
There were rumours that the wedding would take place in Pataudi (Bhopal), the royal territory of the Pataudi family. But that idea was discarded, mainly due to security concerns following the area. The couple has been dating each other for five years now and had officially declared that their wedding would happen sometime at the start of this year. But following the release of Saif’s Bourne meets Bond el-classico espionage thriller, Agent Vinod, things got postponed.
Kareena Kapoor’s path breaking film, Heroine is up for a September 21 release and that is keeping her completely on her toes and it was a wise decision for Saif-Kareena to tie the knot after rounding off their prior commitments. Now that the lovely B-town couple is on their way to take their romantic saga to a different level, we wish them a happy married life. The wait that spanned five years is slowly reaching its destination!
