Saif Ali Khan Might Lose ‘Padmashri’ Honor

The Padmashri honor held by Saif Ali Khan might be taken away from him if the authorities deem right, following a RTI petition. Khan, who is one of the co-accused in assaulting a South African Entrepreneur, at a Colaba restaurant in 2012, is a holder of the Padmashri, the civilian honor.

However, the petition wasn’t solely about the actor but several other prominent personalities who are given prestigious awards without any thorough background check on them or even analysis of their criminal record or history.

Coming to Saif, the actor is entangled in many criminal cases, besides the brawl at the plush restaurant. Amongst the notable ones will also be his involvement in the Chinkara killing case, the same in which superstar Salman Khan too is infamously stuck in. The Padmashri was to be conferred on Republic Day and obviously thorough check up will entail the RTI petition.
