Bollywood actor Said Ali Khan’s recent release Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior alongside Ajay Devgn is doing wonders at the Box Office achieving new feats with each passing day. But seems like the Saif has called in for some trouble after he commented on India’s history in a recent interview and fell into the lap of criticism leading to a severe backlash.

Tanhaji based on the epic battle fought by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s confidant Tanaji Malusare. While the film impressed many, there were a few who pointed out that the filmmaker has taken a few liberties with the history and mend it towards populist political narrative.

Saif Ali Khan Comments On Indian History Gets Brutally Trolled
Saif Ali Khan Gets Trolled BRUTALLY For His “I Don’t Think There Was A Concept Of India Till The British” Comment

Saif Ali Khan in a recent interview with Film Companion when asked about the liberties, he said, “For some reason, I didn’t take a stand. Maybe next time I would. I was very excited to play the role because it’s a delicious role. But when people say this is history, I don’t think this is history. I am quite aware of what the history was. I don’t think there was a concept of India till perhaps the British gave it one. I don’t think there is really any constructive point in arguing about loudly, provided you yourself know why you’re doing it.”

It was this comment that brought all the backlash and it is evident that the trolls are angry with the star’s statement.

The people who criticized his comment also include filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri who wrote, “There was no concept of India till British came” When your student gives a duffer answer but teacher gives full marks. No wonder this stupid Film Critic refused to review #TheTashkentFiles and now is unhappy with the success of @ajaydevgn’s #Tanhaji.”
