Why not, after the kind of fan base Saif Ali Khan’s character ‘Sartaj Singh’ and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Gaitonde’ have build for themselves. With the upcoming season, the show is indeed going to be grand but the amount of money that Netflix has shelled out for the season is mind boggling!

As per a recent report by Bollywood Hungama, Netflix has let out a mammoth amount of 100 crores for the upcoming season of Sacred Games. “While usually each episode of an original could cost between Rs. 3-4 crores with a total budget around the vicinity of Rs. 50 crores, Netflix has gone above and beyond for season 2,” reveals a source close to the development.

About why the makers have decided to go to such massive extent, “The first season was a mammoth success in terms of the appreciation it got from the viewers as well as the critics. The other reason happens to be the realisation that the second season should be bigger and more complex that the first, which made the makers to invest so much in the production of Sacred Games 2 budget,” the source says.

Sacred Games 2 also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Kalki Koechlin, Luke Kenny, Ranvir Shorey, and Shobita Dhulipala among others.

Meanwhile, Saif went through a physical transformation for the second season of “Sacred Games” to showcase the change in his story graph.

With the second season, Saif will be back as police officer Sartaj Singh, who is trapped in a race against time to save Mumbai from an attack.
