Widely welcomed nationwide, Sachin: A Billion Dreams was declared tax-free in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Odisha.
As per various online reports, Sachin: A Billion Dreams was made on a budget of 39 crores. Readers would be surprised to hear Sachin Tendulkar was paid a staggering sum of 35 crores to provide personal details of his life. That means production cost was as low as 4 crores.
The film pans through Sachin Tendulkar’s journey from childhood to becoming a cricketer. Things take an ecstatic turn when his transformation to becoming the ‘God of Cricket’ is showcased. The ace cricketer narrated most of the film, but did it resonate with the audience as expected?

Sachin Tendulkar’s documentary hit the theatre screens on May 26, 2017. It made a box office collection of 50.81 crores net in India. The nationwide gross collection in its lifetime stood at 65.03 crores.
The magic of the documentary wasn’t only restricted to India but overseas as well as it made cumulative earnings of 6 crores.
At the worldwide box office, Sachin: A Billion Dreams collected an impressive 71.03 crores gross.
This means Sachin Tendulkar alone took home almost 49% of the total earnings made by the creators.
The film was available in five languages post-release. Apart from Hindi, English, and Marathi, it was also dubbed Tamil and Telugu. It also featured MS Dhoni. Distributed by AA Films, the music for Sachin: A Billion Dreams was provided by the legendary AR Rahman.
