Bobby Jasoos‘ initial reviews are out and the word of mouth is overtly positive for the film. Surprisingly, a crucial part of the accolades has been going to Vidya Balan’s chemistry with actor Ali Fazal. It could have easily classified as eerie chemistry but the duo put up a massively winsome job at it.
In an interview with Koimoi, we asked Vidya Balan if it is a taboo romancing a younger actor on screen. The actress quipped, “When you are romancing an actor on the screen, you don’t think of their age. When you are doing a film you are playing a role simply, you don’t think of age gaps but just of your character. Also age gap in general doesn’t matter because attractions happen between all age groups. Even in terms of chemistry I think, it is primarily about how two actors respond to each other. Two people can be of any age but the chemistry must work. In Ishqiya, I was cast opposite a much older Nasser Sa’ab but that did not hinder our chemistry at all.”

Ali Fazal quite agrees with Vidya on that. Adding to her statement, Fazal said, “Vidya is an absolute bachchi actually. Our director has a large part to play in making our chemistry flower. Obviously people’s perspective cannot be judged, but when someone actually sees the movie the chemistry is amazingly young. There is a certain degree of freshness that it brings in the script. Your attention definitely stands over Vidya and my chemistry in the film. Everything in the film feels so fresh. Not once did I get that feeling that I am a young actor and it is out of place romancing Vidya.”

Bobby Jasoos traces the chirpy story of a female detective who finds herself in the middle of an unusual case. The film which hits the theatres today is Vidya’s second release this year and has humongous expectations pinning on it.
