It is a known fact that Akshay Kumar’s OMG Oh My God! is based on a high acclaimed Gujarati play ‘Kanji Virrudh Kanji’. Now rumour has it that Vivek Oberoi would be coming together with none other than Rekha for an adaptation of a Gujarati play titled ‘Baa Ae Mari Boundary’. “This Gujarati play is quite a superhit and created many records already. While ‘Kanji Virrudh Kanji’ had a comic undertone to it, this play is a very emotional and heart warming tale. Rights for this play have already been procured and Rekha as well as Vivek have been signed as well. The shooting is expected to start soon since Vivek is mighty charged to get going on it”, informs a source.
Though our source was not too forthcoming about other details related to the film since the makers wish to make the formal announcement soon with the finalised cast and director, both actors are quite charged about it’s subject and (an expected) sensitive treatment. Apparently, Vivek is playing Rekha’s grandson in the film. “Vivek has been playing a brooding character for quite some time now while Kismet Love Paisa Dilli and Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story are comedies. However this play is an entertainer with a heart and soul. It belongs to a genre that Vivek hasn’t attempted for long. On the other hand Rekha would be making a comeback as a lead protagonist six years after forgettable films like Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamaana and Yatra“, the source adds. As per insiders, the film’s rights have been procured by Indra Kumar with whom Vivek has already worked in Masti & Pyaare Mohan and is currently collaborating on Grand Masti.
