While it can now be confirmed that Nargis Fakhri is indeed an integral part of Madras Cafe which is John Abraham‘s next production after Vicky Donor, an insider has also revealed that she isn’t the only actress in the film. The political thriller, shooting of which is already underway, would also see the launch of a fresh face. The girl’s name is Rashi Khanna.
“Though so far has presence in the film had been kept under the wraps, sooner or later it would be out in open that there is a debutant leading lady starting her career with ‘Madras Cafe‘ (which was earlier titled Jaffna). Both John as well as director Shoojit Sircar were quite happy with Rashi and decided to rope her in. She is quite important to the film’s narrative”, informs a source.
In fact Rashi’s entry into John’s production house has worked in her favour for reasons more than one. Apparently, she is also a very strong contender for Hamaara Bajaj where she would be paired with Ayushmann Khurrana.
“She is almost finalised for Hamaara Bajaj as well. It is mere formality before her name is announced,” the source adds.
When contacted, John confirmed Rashi’s debut with Madras Cafe. “Yes, she is doing the film. She has a great promising future ahead of her and is a girl to watch out for.”
As for her being cast opposite Ayushmann in Hamaara Bajaj, John said, “Well yes, we are looking at that.”
