Rani Mukherjee doesn’t mind being called Saali. Before you start calling her names, know that she is referring to the song Aali Re Saali Re from her upcoming film, No One Killed Jessica. Talking to the media at the launch of the song, Rani said that she wouldn’t mind being addressed by the title of the song; after all she was once known as the Aati Kya Khandala girl!
Rani became the ‘It’ girl only after starring in the super-hit Khandala song opposite Aamir Khan in Ghulam. The good news is that the light-eyed actress is all set to share the silver screen with the ‘perfectionist’ Khan once again. Aamir and Rani are paired opposite each other in Reema Kagti’s upcoming thriller in which Aamir Khan plays a cop. “The last time I worked with Aamir was in The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey, so now we will be getting back together again,” Rani reveals.
But what about working with Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she had registered her first box-office hit, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? Without missing a beat, Rani replies, “I’m going to tell Shah Rukh to make a film with me because I miss working with him!”
Rani, who was last seen on the big screen in the 2009 Yash Raj film, Dil Bole Hadippa!, was in a pretty good mood at a promotional event of her forthcoming film, No One Killed Jessica. She has been promoting the film jointly with Vidya Balan, in spite of rumours that the ladies didn’t see eye-to-eye during the film’s shooting in Delhi. Rani acts surprised, “No! In fact, Vidya Balan and I were constantly laughing and smiling around each other during the shooting. It’s kind of surprising that we both managed to complete shooting of such a serious film though we were having such a ball of a time off-camera!”
Whatever you say, Rani.
