Recently, a report in Mumbai Mirror suggested that Rani left the shoot and the makers of the show had to complete the episode without a star on the show.
A source from the sets told the daily, “Initially, Rani had given the time slot of 11am-2pm but it was changed to 3pm-7pm on Sunday. Everyone rescheduled their plans to accommodate her. She arrived on the sets as planned but was in her vanity van till about 4 pm. Karan went to check on her and they chatted for half an hour, after which Rani’s manager informed the show’s team that she wouldn’t be able to shoot. The team is trying to reschedule her appearance since the celebrity guest spot now lays vacant for the episode.”
Apparently, the actress had arrived on time on the sets for the shoot but after she got ready and all dressed for the shoot, her manager told the team that she won’t go ahead as she was suffering from severe backache and fever.
The episode was going to aired on Valentine’s Day which was going to have a dance number of Rani and Karan, “She was slated to perform on a medley of songs from Karan’s films, including her own number Shava Shava from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and a song from Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. She was also supposed to share her story as a newcomer in the industry with the contestants,”

The actress was last seen in 2014’s Mardaani which was directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Yash Raj Films. The film was a successful affair at the box office and Rani received accolades and appreciation for her performance.
Post-Mardaani, Rani took a break from films to take care of her daughter Adira Chopra. Rani Mukerji is married to the filmmaker and Chairman of Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra.
The story of Hichki revolves around the character of Rani, who turns her biggest weakness into her biggest strength.
