2004 – Where It All Began!

Ranbir Kapoor was working as an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. 11-year-old Alia Bhatt visited the sets for an audition. While reminiscing the first-ever time, “I met Ranbir when I was 11, I had auditioned for Black. Since then, I had a crush on him. And then he came in Saawariya, and I had already seen him,” the actress had previously shared.
And that’s not it. The couple was even almost cast for a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film called ‘Balika Badhu.’ Kapoor himself revealed about it sharing how they even did a sweet photoshoot for the film that never saw light of the day.
2014 – Spilling The Beans With KJo!
Alia Bhatt appeared on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan. When asked about Ranbir Kapoor, Alia revealed how KJo made them speak for the first time. She turned heads when she confessed that she still wanted to marry him. Alia said, “I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You called him up when Rockstar had released. You said, ‘here talk to Ranbir, tell him how much you love him.’I just spoke so much rubbish, I was just talking non-stop. But later I have hung out with him and I still think he’s adorable and I still want to marry him.”
In the same year, Alia and Ranbir even united with Imtiaz Ali to promote Highway. That was the first-ever time people saw them on-screen together, be it for a promotion!
2017 – ‘Brahmastra’ Came Together To Unite Them, QUITE LITERALLY!
Alia and Ranbir began working on Karan Johar’s Brahmastra. And with that, the romance rumours began sparking too. The actress for long kept denying them all. However, twist in the tale came when Bhatt eventually began sharing posts of the actor on social media. She even credited him with major hints for many of her pictures.
2018 – IT’S OFFICIAL!
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor arrived at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding together In May. All decked up in complimenting outfits, they truly looked like a match made in heaven. The beauty even posted a picture on her Instagram. She meant a lot yet said nothing at all.
By the end of the month, Kapoor finally confessed that they were dating. “It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to overspeak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. It’s new for us, so let it cook a bit,” said the actor to GQ India.
That also begins the social media PDA quite openly. The actress begins crediting her boyfriend openly on the pictures clicked by him.
2019 – New Year Brings Bigger News!
Alia Bhatt flies to New York to celebrate New Year’s with the Kapoor family. Rishi Kapoor has been undergoing his treatment for cancer at the time. Ranbir’s sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, brother-in-law Bharat Sahni were a part of the picture too. Best part? The picture was shared by mother Neetu Kapoor herself. So clearly, it was a green signal from the family as well.
Ever since, from vacations to award functions, Alia and Ranbir have nothing to hide. In fact, Alia was a huge support when the Kapoor family lost legendary actor Rishi Kapoor. She was even spotted at Neetu Kapoor’s birthday amid the lockdown.
Alia and Ranbir were last seen together at Rakshabandhan celebrations days ago. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Aadar Jain and Tara Sutaria were amongst the others present at the gala.
Well, all that’s now left is for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor to finally tie the knot. Rumours were rife that the couple will get married soon after Brahmastra’s release. Now with everything being uncertain due to the coronavirus pandemic, fans may have to wait a little more.
