Anurag Kashyap may be a big name today but what was he like as a newbie writer? We found an old interview of this director after the success of his first film Satya. In the 1998 success party of Satya, a rather simple Anurag was seen talking about his film and the whole experience of it.

Talking about Satya, a shy Anurag said that the basic idea of coming up with this film was that it will be a gangster film. Majority of the film shaped up on its way. On the dynamic characters that Satya has, Anurag drew his inspiration from ace directors like Martin Scorsese’s ‘Goodfellas’ and ‘Godfather’.

As we know that Anurag is a believer of realistic cinema, he added that, “Audience is intelligent and they want to see a change in cinema”. The director has definitely proved this after giving us successful offbeat films like Dev D and Gangs Of Wasseypur.
