Rajkummar Rao On Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker: “I Saw The Film And I Thought Why Don’t We Write Such Characters”

Rajkummar Rao is at the top of his game with a filmography that shouts versatility. But ever imagined what is that one role that the actor wants to play? Well, Raj answered this for us and it is none other than Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.

While Joaquin Phoenix gave his career-best performance in Joker, the film has inspired actors across the globe to play something that nears his performance. Many actors from Bollywood have also expressed their wish to play the character, and the recent one is Rajkummar Rao. The actor who played a psychotic character in his last outing Judgementall Hai Kya wishes to play a role on the lines of Joker. Rajkummar spoke about this in length during a conversation with Mashable India.

Expressing his wish to have similar characters in Hindi films, he said, “I would love to play the character. I saw the film and I thought why don’t we write such characters. It’s lovely! I’d love to play Joker. If somebody writes it, that’s the way I’ll go!”

On the work front, Raj is gearing up for the release of his next film Made In China alongside Mouni Roy and has a long list of films that he is a part of in the coming future. He will be seen in The White Tigers alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Turram Khan with Nushrat Bharucha, Roohi Afza with Janhvi Kapoor and an untitled Anurag Basu project.
