They say: ‘Actors live through their films even after Death’ and not just saying, Rajesh Khanna, India’s first Superstar has made it happen and how! While India was in utter shock after the bizarre news of Rajesh Khanna’s demise this July, his ardent fans had been infused life back, when an audio, tentatively Kaka’s last, surfaced post his Death.

The audio, a 8 minuter had Kaka voicing his opinions and summing up his journey in the Hindi film industry since he made an acting debut after winning a Talent Search competition.

Two months later, today, we have breaking news: a kind of a revelation. While most of us took the audio to be the last remnant from our beloved actor, Ashok Tyagi made headlines today as he announced the release of his next film ‘Risayat’ that would be Rajesh Khanna’s last venture on screen. With such a stint, Khanna joins the league of actors like Heath Ledger and Uttam Kumar whose films were released post their sudden death.

‘Riyasat’ will release amidst all the hype and hoolaboo on December 28th, one day ahead of Khanna’s 70th birth anniversary. Paying homage to the legendary actor, the director had decided to postpone the release of his film in order to tribute Khanna for his contribution to the fraternity. Not just that, Kaka has also left a sealed letter, the contents of which will be revealed only during the film’s release or promotional activities. Tyagi calls himself fortunate to have worked with the legend and seems really excited about his film, where Rajesh ji slips into the role of a godfather

For essaying the role with élan, Khanna had taken the help of his long time friend and colleague, his Babumoshai, Amitabh Bachchan as he went through the reels of Big B’s ‘Sarkar’ to imbibe the essentialities in portraying the role of the god father. The theme of the film is under the wraps, but is sought to be off beat and different form today’s masala potboilers. The good news for all fans is that Rajesh Khanna had rendered his own voice for the film and it would be his last outing as an actor on the silver screen.

Khanna, who was troubled by severe illness and liver dysfunctions, shot 95% of the flick before he left all of us for the heavenly abode. Had his health not deteriorated, Kaka, known to be an acute professional would have continued with the shoot till completion. But luck had its own ways. Nevertheless, the film that is all set for a December 28 release will be caught whilst all the euphoria and stars Gauri Kulkarni, Aryan Vaid, Aryeman Ramsay and Raza Murad in pivotal roles.

Guess they, who say it were right! Kaka might have left all of us, but his legacy lives on!
