The buzzing track from the latest blockbuster movie Student of the Year; ‘Radha’ has been quite popular before and after the release of the movie, but along with the fame it has also brought in trouble for the makers of the song , the cast as well as the singers.
A legal case has been imposed on Karan Johar, the Director and Gauri Khan, the Producer of SOTY on grounds that the song ‘Radha’ from the same movie has referred the mythological character Radha as “sexy” which in turn hurts the religious sentiments of the people.

‘Shrivision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association’, an NGO, had lodged a private complaint last month with a magisterial court and the orders for FIR were given out last month itself.

The FIR was lodged under section 295 (A) and 120 (B) (on grounds of hurting religious sentiments) of Indian Penal Code (IPC), as confirmed by Superintendent of Police OP Tripathi.
The FIR has been lodged against Karan Johar, Gauri Khan, Sony Music, Dharma Productions, music composers Vishal-Shekhar, lyricist Anveta Dutta, playback singers Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghosal, as well as the actors Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra.
