Creative stagnation in terms of stories being told is a pertinent problem with Bollywood films these days and everyone can unanimously agree on the same. Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who has worked in everything from commercial to tasteful cinema, in an interview to Koimoi told us that it is only recently that she cares about the script.
She said, “It’s only recently that I have started going through the script very intently. Earlier I would do films for the sake of a friend. Now a days, I make the effort to go through the script page by page. Everyone has told me that it is my responsibility. If it has to be something different, it shouldn’t merely be a heroine oriented film where the heroine has a massive role to play. Probably the film isn’t good but in every frame the heroine is terrific and amazing. I can’t do that. I have done this is Heroine and though the film wasn’t appreciated, my performance was very appreciated.”

Talking in the same vein she added, “The idea is now the whole film should be an exciting thing for me where the lead lady has a central part. If not, being a part of the biggest films in the industry has always been a part of my career. And I will continue to do that till I can. Until a great script comes my way.”

So what does she look for while choosing a script and the actress said, “I have heard a lot of scripts recently. Some are good. Others are just average. But now, it is the time to do something great. Length of the role has never mattered to me. 3 Idiots for me was at par with Jab We Met in terms of performance. Though I was not in every frame. It is the spark that has mattered.”
Kareena is all set to feature with Ajay Devgn in Singham Returns. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film will release on 15th August.
