Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar’s Diwali release, Saand Ki Aankh, evoked the ageism debate in the Industry. While Kangana Ranut’s sister Rangoli slammed the actress’ for not fighting ageism, Badhaai Ho actress Neena Gupta too expressed her disappointment over not getting roles that require actress of her age. Now, Parineeti Chopra is opening up about it and her stand is clear!
A Twitter user a while ago came in support of Taapsee and team and wrote if the debate is to go by, a dwarf should have played Bauaa Singh instead of Shah Rukh Khan in Zero, and a badminton player should be instead doing the Saina Nehwal biopic. “By the #SaandKiAankh debate- old people shud play old people. A paraplegic should’ve done Anusha’s role in Zero. A dwarf should’ve played SRK’s role. A Sikh man should’ve done Kesari. A badminton player should do the Saina Nehwal biopic & an acid victim shud do Chhapaak. Also…”, the user wrote.
To this, Parineeti replied and wrote, Thanks Sarita. “Yes absolutely – we are actors and its our priviledge and job to mold ourselves into real life personalities! #SainaNehwalBiopic @SaritaTanwar”
Well, that’s a legit point but with new statements every day, it’s hard to make out which side is correct. The debate indeed has divided Twitter in two sides.

The tweet came in response to the fact that Parineeti will be essaying Saina in her biopic which is being helmed by Amole Gupte and will be produced by Bhushan Kumar.
Earlier, Shraddha Kapoor was supposed to play the titular role and the makers even released the first look but eventually things fell apart owing to Shraddha’s health and choc-o-bloc schedule and Parineeti was roped in.
