Cute, romantic and an innocent charm is what envelops Imran Khan. Devoid of that starry tantrum, Imran Khan opens up to a lot of questions from different angles as we caught up with the actor. In Kolkata to promote his upcoming and much anticipated Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Again, Imran was all smiles about the role that he has been offered to play.
“My role in OUATIM 2 is completely different from what I have played in all my other films. I play Aslam and you will get to know more about me after the trailer release which is scheduled in the last week of April, some two weeks from now,” gushed the dashing dude who looked gullible and cute in the Twinkle Khanna designed IPL T-shirt.
Allegedly reported to be playing real life characters, Imran brushed aside all rumours and broke the ice about OUATIM 2. “There have been a lot of speculations about this film. I think it obviously becomes a very exciting story if you start saying that it is based on real people and real incidents. But that has not been the case. There are incidents from the past that we have taken and modified into use but it is not a historical or a factual film with real characters,” was what the dimpled darling had to say.
From Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na to Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Imran has seen his graph going volatile at times to sudden lows and riding up to career crescendo signing in one big film after the other that too with some heavyweight hot shot directors. Karan Johar to Vishal Bharadwaj and Milan Luthria, Imran is all smiles about getting to work with such prolific directors. “The experience has been really awesome. It has been a really hectic couple of years, both last year and this year as there is a lot of work happening back to back. Akshay (Kumar) sir and Sonakshi (Sinha) are used to working in back to back films but I am not used to this at all. So these two and half years spanning from 2012, 2013 to mid 2014, I have absolutely no holidays. I always keep asking them about how they do it.”
With a jam packed schedule, Imran is all set to loot your hearts with that child-like innocence and oodles of sugary coatings in the next year and a half. Ask about his upcoming films and he gushes in a breath of fresh air and continues, “I have Milan’s Once Upon a time in Mumbaai Again lined up and then I have Punit Malhotra’s Gori Tere Pyar Mein to be released. After Punit’s film, I move on to do a film with Tigmanshu Dhulia titled Milan Talkies. That will take me to the end of next year.”
