With President Obama announcing the death of the dreaded terrorist Osama Bin Laden, it is curtains for the longest manhunt in the history of US war on terror. However, you can always turn to your nearest DVD store to catch the Bollywood version of the dreaded terrorist, if not Osama himself!

Koimoi.com chronicles Osama’s short stint in Bollywood. Plus a few Bollywood appearances by Obama!

Osama & Obama The Bollywood Connection

Tere Bin Laden: This hit Bollywood comedy featured actor Pradhuman Singh as Osama bin Laden. When a cheeky reporter in Pakistan (Ali Zafar) decides to concoct a story about Osama Bin Laden’s latest video tape, he finds a chicken farmer – who is a look alike of the most wanted terrorist – and dresses him up. The effect: Indian audiences got to see Osama bin Laden in flesh and blood for the first time on the silver screens. Of course, he was fake and funny!

Osama & Obama The Bollywood Connection

My Name Is Khan: President Obama made a guest appearance in the climax of this 2010 hit. Shah Rukh Khan, who is autistic, decides to meet the president to declare, “My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist.” After a long and arduous journey through America, Khan finally meets the president and fulfills his wish. Director Karan Johar, obviously used a body double.

Phas Gaye Re Obama: Obama was not a character in this 2010 comedy, rather the leit-motif of the film. When local goons in North India decide to kidnap an NRI (Rajat Kapoor), they do so inspired by the pre-election slogan of Obama – ‘Yes We Can!’ Posters and TV footage of Obama’s speeches were seen throughout the film.

Politics Of Love: This is Obama’s upcoming film appearance. The Hollywood film, which also features Bollywood hottie Mallika Sherawat, is based on the euphoria that Obama had created in the run up to the US presidential election. Mallika even recently met up with Obama, who has reportedly promised that he will make time for the premiere of the film. Well, that is, if the ghost of Osama doesn’t come back to haunt him!
