The trade was filled with reports that Kangana Ranaut will lock horns with Akshay Kumar during the Independence Day weekend this year, by getting her much-awaited period drama, Manikarnika clash with Gold at the Box-Office. Although the makers never officially announced the release date, in the past they did confirm that the film is eyeing at an Independence Day release due to the patriotic theme.

However, now we hear that the film which is the biopic of Rani Laxmibai has been pushed by a month owing to prolonged post-production work. The film, directed by Krish is now looking to release on 28th September 2018, which would result in a clash with Sui Dhaaga starring Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma in lead. A source reveals, “While the team was initially gearing up for a clash with Gold, the post production process is taking longer than expected. Baahubali Franchise and Padmavaat have raised the bar of VFX in India, and we have to match up to the scale of those films.”
