Minaj was upset because her “Anaconda” video is not featured in the Video of the Year category of the MTV Video Music Awards.

After the full nominees were announced on Tuesday, Minaj took to Twitter to express her disappointment, and somehow ended up having a Twitter spat with one of the coveted award’s nominees, Swift, reports aceshowbiz.com.

In typical aggressive style, Minaj tweeted, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”

A dig at other female artists nominated in this category, Swift felt attacked and retorted, “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”

Seemingly confused by Swift’s comment, the “Anaconda” hitmaker wrote back: “Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u. But u should speak on this… I’m still confused as to why u just tweeted me when I made it abundantly clear…”

Both Minaj and Swift later attempted to end the online argument.

Minaj said she hand’t meant to offend anyone or attack a competitor individually when she ranted about not getting nominated. As always, she blamed ‘White media’ and their tactics for creating confusion. Swift, in sugary sweet form, asked Minaj to join her on stage for an impromptu gig during the event.

And this spat becomes all the more entertaining because Minaj is actually nominated in multiple categories for ‘Anaconda’ at the MTV Music Awards!
