Join UsA sequel to 1987 Bollywood sci-fi comedy Mr. India has been in reports for a long time. Just recently it was being said that Tiger Zinda Hai & Bharat director will be helming Mr. India 2 and he is in talks with Ranveer Singh to play the lead role. It was also being said that superstar Shah Rukh Khan will play the role of iconic Mogambo in the film.
It has now been confirmed by the filmmaker himself that he is indeed re-creating the Mr. India world. However, the best news is that it won’t be a single film but a trilogy.
Ali took to Twitter and announced the film but also mentioned that the Mr. India star cast hasn’t been locked yet. He tweeted, “Excited to partner with @ZeeStudios_ for an epic trilogy #MrIndia! It is a huge responsibility to carry forward an iconic character loved by everyone. Currently, working on the script, no actor has been locked till now. Once we lock the first draft of the script, casting begins!”

Meanwhile, it’s also being said that Ali is planning to create is own superhero universe and Mr. India is going to be the first one. Well, if that’s true, it’s super exciting news indeed.
Original Mr. India had Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Amrish Puri in lead roles. The film was directed by Shekhar Kapur.
