After a letter submitted by IPL’s chairman Ranjib Biswal to the Mumbai Cricket Association over the finals of IPL taking place in Mumbai, the MCA has reverted on the issue. Out of the 14 conditions laid down in the letter, one condition was asking for an entry to all franchisee owners mainly hinting at Shah Rukh Khan and lifting his ban on entry in Wankhede stadium.
Shah Rukh Khan, who has a ban of 5 years on him, could get lucky this time as MCA has decided to agree with all the 14 conditions. The main reason for accepting all conditions is because President Sharad Pawar himself wants the finals to take place in Mumbai. However, there has been a clear clarification that the conditions have been met with only for the final game and not the eliminator match. Thus, SRK can rejoice in Wankhede if KKR make it to the finals.
Previously the final match had been awarded to Mumbai after the Mumbai team lifted the cup last year, but the BCCI in a sudden move altered the schedule and decided to host the finals in Bangalore. Now that the MCA has given a nod for all the conditions, the announcement on the finals being shifted to Mumbai may soon be coming out.
