Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 2 is receiving rave reviews from the audience as well as the critics. People are appreciating Rani’s fierce and powerful performance as a cop in the film. The first film was based on the subject of human trafficking and in the sequel, Mukerji’s character is stronger and more confident.
Mardaani 2 is based on the crucial issue of the growing number of rapes in India. It also focuses on how so many girls are eve-teased and molested in public. In an interview, the actress revealed that people have misbehaved with her too and how she tackled the situation.

The Hichki actress told Indian Express, “I have straight up slapped. I have grown up looking up to Goddess Durga. So whenever something like this happened with me as a child, I have slapped them. I have slapped many. There is no count.”

Whenever there is a rape case in India, a lot of people want stricter laws to be made. Many people demand capital punishment be made mandatory for rapists along with no bail. Rani Mukerji was asked what is the right punishment for rapists according to her.
She answered, “In my opinion, these people who carry out such barbaric acts deserve brutal punishment. When a rape victim loses her life, the kind of trauma her family faces is incomparable.”
