Firstly, speaking about the year 2019, till now we have a total of 7 films in the list of most profitable films of 2019. But let’s take a look at the top 3 profitable films of each year!

The top 3 profitable films of 2019 include Uri: The Surgical Strike had a ROI% of 876.24% (ROI: 219.06 crores), The Tashkent Files had a ROI% of 318.75% (ROI: 12.75 crores) and Badla had a ROI% of 300.09% (ROI: 66.02 crores). Vicky Kaushal’s Uri has become the most profitable film of all time and it has shattered all the records.

Coming to the year 2018, Padman had (ROI%: 113.37%), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (ROI%: 352.95%), Raid (ROI%: 111.54%), Hichki (ROI%: 130.85%), Baaghi 2 (ROI%: 175%), Raazi, (ROI%: 310.56%), Parmanu (117.86%), Veere Di Wedding (ROI%: 129.22%) and Sanju (ROI%: 326.52%).

The year 2017 consisted of films like Kaabil (ROI%: 153.70%), Jolly LLB 2 (ROI%: 160%), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (ROI%: 159.11%)and Hindi Medium (ROI%: 213.63%).

Last but not the least, year 2016 had films like Neerja which had a ROI% of 260% (ROI: 54.61 crores), Airlift had a ROI% of 222.5% (ROI: 89 crores) and Baaghi had a ROI% of 100% (ROI: 38 crores). Compared to previous year, this year stays very low.

The above analysis and the year 2019 tell us that it is not necessary that a film needs a big star. The content plays a key role in every film. Even with each passing year, makers have learnt and try to make a film on low budget which in return gives a huge profit. Films like Uri, The Tashkent Files, Badla, Luka Chuppi which are made on low budget and in turn worked in the makers’ favour. Even Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh will enter the top 3 list of profitable films by beating Badla. The film is currently standing a total amount of 239.97 crores.

If we bifurcate the first half of each year, the year 2018 saw the highest number of profitable films in the first half. The year 2018 had 9 profitable films which is followed by the current year 2019 which has 7 films in the list and then 2017 with 4 films and 2016 with 3 films.
