The beautiful Kareena Kapoor Khan believes that today no mainstream actress wants to be paired with any other actress. Kareena, who was present at the trailer launch event of her next Veere Di Wedding, said that working in this film has been a learning experience.
During the launch event, Kareena was asked about how liberating is it to have no male co-star and just have women around you.

She said, “I have been a part of lot of ensemble films but this was very peculiar and that is why I wanted to be a part of it. I don’t think a lot of mainstream actresses want to be paired with other girls. I have always worked with Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan; and everyone wants to work with them but the fact is that I wanted to be a part of this movie and work with Sonam, Swara & Shikha and feel like a team player. It has taught me to get out of that typical commercial zone of being part of big Bollywood movies and be a part of a film and play a character.. So it has been a learning experience.”

Adding to this, Sonam said, “Kareena Kapoor is my favourite hero that I have worked with! It is the easiest thing to work with other women. Unfortunately our conditioning is such that people expect women to pull other women down and compete with each other because obviously divide and rule. What is amazing is that all of us working towards the same goal of making the best possible version of something. So if everyone binds together, we can rule the world.”
Further the Aisha actress also spoke about the misogynistic mindset of our society when it comes to a female centric film which should be completely changed. She also gave an example where she compared Bebo and Shahid Kapoor. She said, “Dilli bahut durr hai! Long way off before that happens.. people like Kareena Kapoor are setting an example. Look at her, she got married, was on sets and working. Usually you will never ask a man. Have you ever heard anyone asking Shahid Kapoor ki shaadi ho rahi hai..kisi ne pucha is he going to work after marriage? So you have someone like Kareena who has got pregnant, delivered and gone straight to sets to work. People never ask a man there question..why is a woman asked? This misognyisitc mindset needs to change. Hopefully with films like VDW something should change. It is important for films to do well so that we as women get space and break the glass ceiling.”
