WHAT! Kareena Kapoor Khan & Shah Rukh Khan To Team Up For Salute?

Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently busy shooting for Zero, is yet to announce his next film. The superstar in currently in the process of reading several scripts which includes Salute, and Vikram Vedha remake to name a few.

If sources are to be believed, SRK has shown interest in both the films and will start shooting for either of the two films by mid this year depending on how the final script and screenplay shapes up. While Salute – a biopic of Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma, will be mounted on a humongous scale and will involve a lot of VFX, Vikram Vedha on the other hand is a content driven film that will be shot in a short span.

In-fact, we can’t rule out the possibility of SRK having two releases in 2019 in the form of Vikram Vedha and Salute if things materialize as expected.

A source close to the development revealed, “Salute currently is in the same stage as it was in when Aamir Khan was doing the film. Several brain storming sessions have happened as to how would the film be mounted and what the star-cast of the film will be. The script demands the casting of a big A-List superstar, which is the reason why the producers are keen to get SRK on board. It is almost certain that Khan would do the film.”

When asked about the female lead of Salute, the source said, “The team is in talks with Kareena Kapoor for the film, who is excited to team up with Shah Rukh Khan yet again after Ra. One. There will be a joint narration for Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor soon after the locking the screenplay. The duo has shown a lot of interest and will take the call after listening to the final draft of the film.”

Khan is also discussing a couple of subjects with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, however nothing has materialized on this front as of now. It would be interesting to see which film Shah Rukh Khan eventually signs on for. Will it be Salute or Vikram Vedha or both the films? Or will the superstar surprise one and all by announcing an altogether different film. Time shall say, what we have in store.

Salute will be directed by renowned ad-film maker, Mahesh Mathai and produced by Sidharth Roy Kapur.
