Karan Johar Refers ‘Udta Bollywood’ Controversy A Baseless Accusation; Threatens A Legal Route If Repeated!

Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar put out a video on his Instagram where various celebs like Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora amongst other could be seen hanging out together. Things took a tol when Akali Dal MLA, Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused the squad of being in the ‘drugged state’ and termed it all as ‘Udta Bollywood’. Now, KJo is opening all about it, and clearly, he’s disappointed and furious.

In a conversation with Rajeev Masand, Karan opened all about it as he began saying, “Apparently you’re not allowed to scratch your nose and put your phone into your back pocket. Apparently, a shadow of light is perceived to be some kind of powder. In my house, where this hole is… let me explain the geography to you, where there were achieving members of the Industry who’re having an easy night out after hard weeks of work, having a good time and I took that video with all the earnestness, would I be putting out a video of there was anything happening at all?”

KJo further more expressed his disappointment as he continued, “I’m not stupid and I don’t react very well do this baseless accusations because that’s what they were. My mother lives exactly 10 cms from where that hole is and she was 5 mins before this video was taken, sitting with us. It was that kind of a family social gathering where friends were sitting and having a good time, listening to some music, having some good food, and having a good conversational energy there. There was nothing else going on. It’s ridiculous that somebody can just start spotting things like these. I mean Vicky was recovering from dengue, having hot water with lemon.”

“Which powder? I have marble lines on the floor. What powder? Next time there’s accusations, I will be taking the legal route, you cannot mark our solid reputations, our sincere marks just because you are presuming something. I’m afraid to call people home now,” he said about Manjinder Singh Sirsa’s accusation.

It all happened after a video that KJo posted on July 28th featuring all the aforesaid celebs and captioned it, “Saturday night vibes”
