Join UsBuzz is that filmmaker Karan Johar is planning to acquire the remake rights of this year’s Marathi musical blockbuster Sairat. A report by a leading daily suggests that KJo is keen on remaking Sairat in Hindi.
Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar starrer Sairat is a tragic romantic love story which revolves around the life of a low caste boy Parshya and upper caste girl Archie. The film went on to become the highest Marathi grosser ever.
The news has not been confirmed by the makers. However, there isn’t any denial signs for the same. Apparently, the film will be jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Zee (original producers). It is currently in scripting stage and will have a new starcast. The film is set to go on floors in early 2017.
