Director Abhishek Varman, who recently directed Kalank, lost his father, veteran Art Director R Verman yesterday. His father passed away at the age of 72 and he was unwell from some time now.

He was admitted in the hospital and he suffered a cardiac arrest on July 30 around 12.30 am.

Abhishek performed the last rites at Oshiwara crematorium. It is also being reported that Abhishek’s friends from industry including Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Shashank Khaitan and Anurag Singh came to meet him and offer condolences.

He had worked with Dev Anand’s production house on films like Jewel Thief and Guide. He has worked on more than 350 films which includes films like Betaab, Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai, and Hum to name a few.
