Apart from Ajay Devgn, the mega-success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has proved to be a milestone in Saif Ali Khan’s career as well. While his portrayal of Udaybhan Singh Rathore received applauds from all corners, he was heavily criticized for his comment regarding Indian history. Recently, during the trailer launch of Sooryavanshi, Ajay Devgn spilled beans on the statement of his Tanhaji co-actor and now, Kajol too has addressed the issue.
Earlier, while promoting Tanhaji, Saif said, “I was very excited to play the role because it’s a delicious role. But when people say this is history; I don’t think this is history. I am quite aware of what the history was. I don’t think there was a concept of India till perhaps the British gave it one. I don’t think there is really any constructive point in arguing about loudly, provided yourself know why you’re doing it.”
Now, when Kajol was asked about her opinion regarding Saif’s statement, she said, “I think he has got a great sense of humour and he just talks and talks and talks. You are supposed to pick and choose what you want to hear out of that,” reports Filmibeat.
Speaking about Kajol, the actress too played a pivotal role in the period drama. She portrayed the wife of Subhedar Tanaji Malusare.
