Apart from being super talented, Ayushmann Khurrana is also quite choosy about his scripts and the roles he portrays in the film. He has proved his acting mettle time and again with a versatile range of acts. He has mainly selected films which proclaims a social message and challenge taboos of the society. He is now synonymous to an actor breaking the social stereotypes.
Ayushmann’s has already signed his next project with Junglee titled, Stree Rog Vibhaag. Earlier there were rumours that Bhumi Pednekar has been roped in to play the female lead. Later, reports came in that Alaya F will play the female lead. Finally, there’s some clarity to it as a recent report states that neither Bhumi nor Alaya, but Mrunal Thakur will play the female lead in the film.

A source close to Pinkvilla revealed, “The makers were looking at someone to essay the female lead’s part opposite Ayushmann. They wanted a girl who would look convincing carrying off a completely desi character. They were indeed in talks with Bhumi Pednekar and Alaya F, but we hear things didn’t materialise with them. Now, they have roped in Mrunal Thakur for the role and she has also given her nod to the project.”

For the unversed, Ayushmann will be seen playing the role of a gynaecologist in the film. Mrunal, on the other hand, was last seen in Batla House opposite John Abraham. Besides Stree Rog Vibhaag, Mrunal has a really good film line-up ahead. She has Farhan Akhtar starrer Toofan, Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey, Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thadam remake and Umesh Shukla’s next Aankh Micholi with Abhimanyu Dassani.
