John Abraham Was Told ‘This Is Your Time To Buy Goodwill’ As Celebs Pledge Support Amid Lockdown; Actor Left Baffled!

While everyone is doing their bit in these testing times by staying at home and donating funds and essential commodities to those in need, celebrities doing the same get noticed way more than others. But one celeb who has managed to keep his donation activities under complete wraps in John Abraham.

Where several actors are seen opening up about the amount of funds they have donated, John Abraham says he finds himself on the extreme other end of the spectrum. Making it very clear that he has nothing against the people who are announcing their funds, a private person in routine life too, John says that he is happier being at the other end.

Opening up on these lines, John has been quoted by HT Café saying, “I think people who have announced, have done fantastic jobs. People like me would not make it public, not even through a subversive way. Not even through a PR person, where you find out ‘Hey, John has been doing this, he has not told anybody, but he’s actually told people to tell’. So I am probably right at the other end.”

However, the actor-producer says he was shell shocked as someone from the industry said that these days of crisis are the best opportunity to “buy” goodwill for oneself. Without taking names the Parmanu actor said, “This was scary. Someone in the business told me ‘This is your time to buy goodwill’. We are faced with a real-life situation, and it’s not time to, quote-unquote, ‘buy’ goodwill. It is something I choose not to say, even if I am doing. Like I said, nothing wrong with people who have said it. Hats off to our industry, we have come together as a unit.”

Meanwhile, John made headlines recently after his poem Mera Bharat Mahan, went viral and garnered more than a million views on his social media handles in just a matter of 2 days!

However, John says that people who feel things will normalize post the 3rd of May, need to wake up and realize that the fact that things won’t really be normal until the end of the year. John says normal might get a new meaning too altogether.
