News of a probable sequel is doing rounds, and the half-charm of the original Amrita Rao has picked Sara Ali Khan to reprise her role and Tara Sutaria as Alisha (played originally by Shenaz Treasury).
It is still one of the most memorable rom-coms since 2003. Shahid Kapoor got millions of young fans after this movie and just overnight he became the ‘Chocolaty boy’ of our industry. The film had two female leads Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasury.
Recently, the producer of the movie, Ramesh Taurani confirmed that the sequel for Ishq-Vishk is on the cards and told Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, we are making a sequel to Ishq Vishk. The story is in the scripting stage and could be about a teenage romance or a college romance.” Earlier we reported that Ishan Khattar is approached for the role played by his brother Shahid Kapoor in the film. And now, Amrita Rao has revealed that she wants Sara Ali Khan to step into her shoes. In an interview to IANS, Amrita joked, “The way I look right now, I think I can be cast opposite Ishaan Khatter (Shahid’s brother).”

When asked to choose Ishq Vishq cast between the newcomers of the B-Town, she replied, “Maybe Sara can play Payal and Tara can play Shenaz’s character.” On the further development of the movie, a close source to Pinkvilla revealed a few days ago and said, “The makers are currently working on the script for the movie. Ishq Vishq was very young in nature, and hence, who better than Ishaan Khatter, who exhibits the required charm and innocence for the role. Apparently, the idea has been discussed with Ishaan but that’s it.” But nothing has been finalised as of yet. Discussions have been going on for a while and it’ll be too early to make a statement.
