When the promotion of Son of Sardaar kick-started, it had seemed that this was Ajay Devgn’s way of making an early announcement and send out signals to Shahrukh Khan to rethink of his Diwali release. However with Yash Chopra declaring 13th November as the D-Day for his romantic tale, it is quite apparent that a huge battle is about to ensue.
“While Ajay was still talking about Diwali arrival, Shahrukh has even come with the precise date. It is clear that he won’t budge from his spot now. With this clash, expect a cracker-jack Diwali”, says an insider.

The ball is now in Ajay’s court if he wishes to move around now.

“Why would he”, questions a neutral observer, “He is not a pushover by any means. After ‘Bol Bachchan’ and ‘Singham’, he is on a career high. Just like Shahrukh who has an impeccable Diwali record, even his films have always worked in the festive season.”
Another line of thought is around Ajay’s ‘Son of Sardaar’ still making it on the Diwali weekend, though on a regular Friday.
“That may just be a win-win situation since the Shahrukh starrer arrives on 13th which is a Tuesday. If Ajay arrives on Friday, audience would have a choice to watch both films in the same week and it would benefit both superstars as well”, the insider adds.
However that would mean missing out on the lucrative 10 day week that the film would have otherwise enjoyed. Still, with a clash not really helping the cause of any of the two films and a loss of few crores being imminent, one can be rest assured that this is not the last that one has heard about the mega clash in the making this Diwali.
