Is Deepika Padukone Replacing Priyanka Chopra In Gustakhiyan?

The buzz around Jasmeet Reen’s Gustakhiyan was of actress Priyanka Chopra being roped in to play the female lead opposite Irrfan Khan who will be playing poet Sahir Ludhianvi. The film is a biopic based on the the relationship between poet Sahir Ludhianvi and author Amrita Pritam. However, PC apparently has opted out of the project.

Gossip mongers suggested that the very first reason for PC being a part of the film was only due to her close relationship with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Now we hear, he wants his Bajirao Mastani star, Deepika Padukone to be a part of it.

Irrfan and Deepika recently worked together in Piku and shared a great on-screen chemistry. If all goes well, they may now be seen in an out and out romantic film like Gustakhiyan.
