‘Sharp’ is what one associates with Irrfan Khan when it comes to his reel as well as real life persona based on the characters that he plays and his general conduct. Hence it came as a surprise to us when it was revealed that for his next Bollywood outing, he is playing a character who has a rather slow mind.
“He plays the role of a gangster in Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns but instead of being projected as someone ruthless, he is quite endearing. However there is a unique trait to him; he is a little slow when it comes to mind games. He isn’t conniving at all,” informs a source.
Now that’s rather surprising considering the fact that if one goes by the sheer detailing of characters in the original Saheb Biwi aur Gangster, each of the them, be it Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill or Randeep Hooda, was shown indulging in mind games. However with Irrfan coming in the role of a gangster, he brings on a twist in the tale.
“That’s true, he doesn’t have a very calculative mind; he is all heart,” informs an actor attached to the film who didn’t wish to be named.
When contacted, Irrfan said, “I am playing a gangster in the film. Beyond that I can’t tell you anything more. The film is still some time away.”
Well, all we hope is that Irrfan’s wisecracks and acidic dialogue delivery stays intact despite his state of mind in the film.
