“I Was Passable In Bekhudi” – Says Kajol In An Old Interview (1992)

Bollywood actress Kajol has starred in many hit films and given us some unforgettable characters such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge‘s Simran, My Name Is Khan‘s Mandira, K3G‘s Anjali among others. The Kajol that we know today is an established actress but we flipped through an old interview of Kajol from the time of her 1992 film Bekhudi.

The actress sharing her experience of working on Bekhudi quips about the film being perfect, says “I would never change a single thing about it”. Although she expresses disappointment over the film not doing well, she mentions about the whole process being enjoyable. Talking about the film’s director Rahul Rawail, Kajol states that he was not difficult to work with but more on the lines of a perfectionist when it came to shooting. A young Kajol recounts her acting in Bekhudi as average. She says, “I was not all that good. I was passable.”

In a startling revelation, Kajol says, “I never wanted to be an actress”. The hard work associated with being an actress had got the actress confused about taking up this profession but soon she enjoyed it and even excelled at it.
