Has John Abraham played a smart game in ensuring that his romcom turns out to be a safe outing at the box office even before its release? If the numbers that have just come in are any indications, this is indeed the case.

“Including the cost of the film’s making and other expenses related to promotion and release, I, Me Aur Main comes with a price tag of less than 20 crores. Since the sale of satellite rights, music, home video as well as overseas collections are bringing in a good sum already, the film has already recovered the making cost. Now all that is left to cover are the P&A expenses and that is bound to come by through domestic box office collections”, informs out well placed source connected to the film.

For John, who is riding high on the 100 crore success of Race 2, this should indeed be music to ears. Moreover with a much better standing in the industry today post the success of Force and Housefull 2, a solo release and multi-starrer respectively, he has all the reasons to believe that I, Me Aur Main would hit gold as well.

Says John, “Well, I want to be appreciated by my audience as well. I am very proud of my director Kapil Sharma. He has made such a beautiful film. Moreover the film speaks an altogether different language. Money will come but I want audience to enjoy the fact that we have brought in something really new. Yes, I, Me aur Main is already a commercial plus. However is that good enough? No, not really. The film is much beyond commerce.”
