In a few hours from now it would be known to one and all whether Karan Johar’s students pass with distinction marks or score even higher. Meanwhile Sidharth Malhotra, though quite confident that he would pass with flying colours after the release of Student Of The Year, does acknowledge the fact that he has some way to go before turning out to be the superstar that he endeavours to be.

“Of course ‘Student Of The Year’ is not my best act. It would be foolhardy to claim so either; after all this is just my first film”, says the Delhi boy with a straight face, “See, I am very critical about my work. For example singing and dancing is something that I found very difficult to adapt to. In my life I never danced on filmy steps and now I had to be a part of this huge-n-lavish musical extravaganza setup. It is no more just about what you sing but also about how you sing and dance. Still, I have tried to do justice to what Karan wanted. At least I am not making a fool of myself in front of the camera.”

Meanwhile off camera it has been weeks of hectic promotion schedule for the team of Student Of The Year, what with events being planned in India as well as abroad, something which has finally come to a close.

Laughs Sidharth, “During the time when we were shooting for the film, we never realised that the events would be at the scale that Karan has planned for is. In fact he has gone all out to make sure that we are visible all over and that too in a fabulous way. Like for example, at every event we have to wear the kind of costumes that go well with the star image he is trying to create for us. Trust me, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and I have been far more pressurised during these promotional activities.”

Well Sidharth, it could well be about time now to relish the acknowledgment and accolades that may just be round the corner.
