While Bollywood has definitely gone bolder over the years, the trailer of Hate Story had our rapt attention for reasons more than one.
Nikhil Dwivedi, who plays the lead in Hate Story, isn’t ready to divulge too much about his role. Is he reluctant because of the seemingly high sexual content in the film? “It’s nothing like this! It’s just that I was busy wrapping up the last schedule of my forthcoming film Tamanchey. But I am glad that the promo of Hate Money got such a tremendous response and created such a buzz around it,” says the actor.

Nikhil adds, “I did Hate Story for a very emotional reason. Not many are aware that I was to debut in a film with Vikram Bhatt, but for reasons beyond our control, it didn’t work out. But then it was only Vikram Bhatt and E Niwas (director of his debut film, My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves) who believed in me. So when Vikram approached me to do this film, I couldn’t refuse. It has also given me an opportunity to work with director Vivek Agnihotri, who despite the film’s explicit sexual content has shot it aesthetically. He has shot it in such a manner that though the film will shock you it will not make you squirm in your seat.”
