He is the suave, charismatic and handsome villain of Bollywood. “Prem Naam Hai Mera, Prem Chopra”, this dialogue from his film “Bobby” has till date remained specific and conspicuous to his mention anywhere in and around the film circuit.
This year marks the 77th Birthday of the legendary actor whose career spans over a period of 50 glorious years during which he has acted in over a 350 films.
Chopra is remembered with great reverence in Bollywood. He is known for his soft spoken, modest and humble nature. He has worked to raise funds for noble social causes and has always been available to lend a hand to people for support. Ironically, he is known for his villainous acts in films and yet, in his personal life he is an altogether different man. He had an awesome pairing with Rajesh Khanna and performed together in about twenty films like “Ghar Parivaar”, “Doli” and so on. Khanna’s demise this year left Chopra with a sense of unbearable loss.
Prem Chopra is married to Raj Kapoor’s sister Uma and is hence very closely related to the prestigious Kapoor Khandaan. The couple is blessed with three daughters namely, Punita, Prerana and Rakita. Prerana is married to Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi whereas Punita is married to actor Vikas Bhalla.
Koimoi extends its warm birthday wishes to this great actor who in the true sense of word, is worth emulating.
