“Haider Was More Challenging For Shraddha” – Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor had the opportunity of working with Tabu who has both the enigma and caliber of a seasoned actress. Paired opposite Shahid in the film is Shraddha Kapoor who has come a long way in her career in establishing herself as a good actor.

Talking about his experience of working with both in Haider, Kapoor in an interview with Koimoi elaborated, “Both Tabu Ma’am and Shraddha are fantastic in the film. Tabu Ma’am is Tabu Ma’am. We all know how brilliant an actress she is. She has won two national awards. She has done amazing work internationally like Namesake and all. I think it was challenging for Shraddha. She was very sincere. She always gave the feeling that she wanted to learn, understand and participate. The attitude she had on the sets and while filming was great. She was keen on engaging. I felt like her, fortunate enough to be standing in the same frame as people like Irrfan Khan and Tabu Ma’am. Beyond that, ofcourse Tabu can’t play Arshiya and Shraddha can’t play the other’s character. They are both rightly hued for their own respective parts.”

We reached out to Shraddha to ask the same. Being in a Vishal Bhardwaj film so early in her career itself is an achievement for the young actress. Filled with a lot of glee, she said, “Shahid is one of the sweetest people I have met. Also, I love the fact that he loves me a lot. On set, I was constantly awestruck. I had to keep reassuring myself that you are here and you deserve to be here! I knew that I deserved this opportunity and since Vishal Sir has had this faith in me, I must have done something right to get here. It wasn’t a school for me, but it was such a learning experience for me while we were rolling and even off set. “

Haider is all set to release on 2nd October. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
