The “Bad Man” of Bollywood has a heart of gold. Gulshan Grover doesn’t shy away when it comes to standing up for his little friends: homeless dogs and cats living in animal shelters or on the streets.

Grover stars in a brand-new “Adopt, Don’t Buy” ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India. The ad was shot in Hollywood prior to the screening of I Am Kalam, which will kick off the opening night of the 2011 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.

“It is simply irresponsible for anyone to breed or buy animals when there are millions of homeless dogs and cats languishing on the streets and in animal shelters across India”, says Gulshan. “Every time someone buys a puppy or kitten from a breeder or pet store, a homeless animal loses his or her chance at finding a loving home.”
This isn’t the first time that Gulshan has teamed up with PETA to help animals. He also shot a print ad titled “Stop the Real Villains” and a starred in a video – both aimed at fighting against the cruelty that animals suffer when they are transported to slaughter for leather.
