Badshah and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Genda Phool fell into the lap of controversies just a few days after its release. Badshah was accused of not giving veteran folk artist Ratan Kahar his due credits for using his lyrics. Now singer Payal Dev who has crooned the Bengali lyrics has opened up about the controversy and said that the other party has no proof.
The lyrics in question here are from the song Borloker Bitilo claimed by Ratan Kahar that it is his creation. Yesterday we saw Badshah addressing the issue and even lending his help to Kahar in whatever way possible. Today Payal Dev has a whole different story to tell.

According to a report in Bollywood Life, Payal when asked about the controversy said that tge other party has no proof and the same song has been used several times already without any credits.
She said, “The thing is that they don’t have proof. Talks are going on between the company and them. But as far as I know from the sources, they do not have proof. If you go on Youtube, you can see that the same song has been used six to seven times. Credit is not been given to them in Bengal as well.”

She added, “Their name is not mentioned anywhere. From our childhood, we know this is a folk song, and accordingly, we’ve used it. It is mentioned on Youtube as well. Basically, there are no rights to folk songs. As far as I know from sources, their name is not even mentioned in the IPRS, then what are they claiming?”
What outcome this controversy has is with the future. Genda Phool has already garnered over 50 Million views and is top charts.
