For him working with Mr. Bachchan was nothing less than an adventure, which turned out to be a great experience.
In conversation, though, the actor was tight lipped when asked about his character in the film, but he spoke a bit about being identified as Rajinikanth’s son-in-law, his work strategy in Bollywood, Akshara and what he takes from Shamitabh.
Did you have any sorts of communication with Rajinikanth as he has shared a screen space with Mr. Bachchan back then?
No, Nothing.
As to what the trailer shows, it seems you are playing a deaf and mute character, so are you?
I don’t know about that, I really don’t know about that.
Ok, then if you could elaborate about your character in Shamitabh?
You will see in the movie.
Well, so are you lip sealed to reveal anything about your part in Shamitabh?
I can’t help it, please ask Balki; he has asked me not to say anything, him to be blamed and not me please. (Laughs)
You created a niche for yourself down south on your own. But here the audiences identify you as Rajinikanth’s son- in- law. How do you react to it or how does that affect you?
It doesn’t affect me; I am his huge huge huge fan, he is such a big name, anyhow my fans and the audiences associate me with the legend, please go ahead. And my movies will speak for itself and if they like my work, eventually they will know me; till then I am really happy to be known as Rajinikanth’s Son- In- Law. You can know me as his fan, you can know me as his driver also I am fine with it, for me it’s a great honor.
Have you strategize or do you have any plans as to how will you go further in Bollywood, in terms of selecting movies?
No, I take one step at a time. I just take things as they come and I am waiting for the next right script.
So, what is lined up after Shamitabh?
After Shamitabh, I am doing Ananad L Rai’s next film which is a love story.
Akshara Haasan is debuting with this film. How was she?
You would never say that it is her debut if you watch the film. She has done such a convincing job and I wish her all the very best.
What do you take from Shamitabh?
From Shamitabh I take a lot of pride.
